This is a modern reworking of the classic M.R. James Gothic short story from 1893. We have given this oustanding ghost/horror story a completely different slant by setting it in modern times, making it more accessible to today's audiences. Lost Hearts is one truly "scary" story that has thrilled and terrified audiences for well over 100 years.
The story concerns a young boy Stephen Elliot, who having been orphaned is sent to live with his Uncle. It all seems very nice at first with Mrs Bunch the kind housekeeper and the taciturn gardener Mr Parkes, and there is Stephen's uncle,Mr Abney, who seems remarkablly interested in the welfare of Stephen. But with ghostly visitations and Mr. Abney's strange behaviour, is all as placid as it seems? And who are the two bloodied children who appear to have NO HEARTS!
