Oranges and Lemons
Everything seems fine when 12 year old
Ben Archer comes to spend half term week in a country cottage with his Mum, Dad
and eight year old sister Sarah, but on the first night things start to go very
wrong. Woken in the night by his sister singing the old nursery rhyme "Oranges
and Lemons", he is confronted by flashing lights followed by the disappearance
of his parents.
The combination of an extraordinary series of events has caused
a Rent in Time and allowed The Executioner to steal his parents away through Time
itself. The appearance of two Immortals, Thor and Ran, is not comforting, particularly
when Ran relates to him how Thor destroyed Pompeii and things get even worse then
Ben's sister too is stolen by the Executioner.
The only answer, according to Thor,
is for Ben himself to go back in time to the era of the English Civil War, but
Thor tells Ben "remember you will live and die in that time if we cannot
get you back".
It is Ben that The Executioner wants but is Ben prepared to risk his life to save his parents and sister - would you?
